(AHN) Southern California Highway Collision Kills 6, Injures 12
Benjamin Waddy on August 8, 2010 in Education Tips No Comments »Bishop, CA, United States (AHN) – Six people died Monday night after a collision in southern California involving three vehicles, including a van from a private Christian college.
A Ford sports utility vehicle crashed into one of three vans carrying athletes from California Baptist University along U.S. Highway 395, killing at least one person in the van and five in the SUV. Twelve people in the van were also injured.
The university said in a statement its cheerleading coach, Wendy Rice, died in the accident. Rice was driving members of the cross country team from the campus in Riverside to a high-altitude training camp in Mammoth.
California Baptist said the injured students were brought to area hospitals but that the extent of their injuries were unknown.
